In the scientific environment, there are important financial aids for start-ups, especially in the first few years when a lot of money and time has to be invested in the start-up. One example of this is EXIST, a support programme of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK). Exist supports university graduates, scientists and students in preparing their technology-oriented and knowledge-based start-ups.

Only colleges and universities up to 5 years after your graduation are eligible to apply. But very Important: it does not matter at which university the degree was obtained.
